About Friends by Alizeh

Friends by Alizeh is a backpacker hostel on the Bhagsunag road in Upper Bhagsu, across from Krishna General Store and a short walk from the Bhagsu Nag temple. Its host, Alizeh, describes herself as India's first transgender owner of a backpacker hostel. The place is built for solo travellers who want company: the hostel runs group outings and evening events, and the common areas have books, board games and a carrom table. Beds are mostly in mixed dorms of four, six and eight, plus a six-bed female dorm, and each bunk has its own curtain. There is also a deluxe private room.

The interiors use yellow and black throughout, with chequered floors, string lights and big windows that look out over the valley. An in-house café and a terrace with tables are where most guests spend their time. Reviews are very positive: guests keep praising Alizeh's warmth, how clean the place is, the food and the friendly mood at bonfires and music nights.
