About HPTDC Hotel Bhagsu
The Bhagsu is run by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and has been receiving guests since 1978, which makes it one of the oldest established hotels in McLeod Ganj. Unlike most places in this crowded hill town, it has real breathing space: the buildings sit within a large plot of lawns and tall deodars, with the Dhauladhar ridge as a backdrop. Rooms come in deluxe and suite categories, and there are also separate huts on the grounds.
It suits families, older travellers and anyone who prefers a dependable government-run hotel with a restaurant, bar and parking over a boutique stay. The location is the big advantage: Tsuglagkhang, Namgyal Monastery and the Tibetan market lanes are all walkable, so you can leave the car parked for the whole stay.
