The Hosteller Dharamshala
Bangatu village, outskirts of Dharamshala

About The Hosteller Dharamshala
This outpost of The Hosteller chain sits in Bangatu village on the outskirts of Dharamshala, well away from the McLeod Ganj crowds. It offers mixed and female-only dorms with en-suite bathrooms, lockers and privacy curtains, as well as private rooms with a seating area and kettle. The rooftop vegetarian cafe has sweeping views over the valley, and the common areas host board games, foosball and, weather permitting, bonfire evenings.
It suits backpackers and remote workers who want a calm base with a social space and workstations, and who do not mind being out of town. Be aware of the access: the last stretch, around four kilometres, is an unpaved road that needs careful driving, and there is no parking on site, so arriving by taxi is easiest. The Dharamshala bus stand is roughly 7 km away, about half an hour by cab.
