Shalom Backpackers, a small hostel chain with branches in Rishikesh and other hill towns, opened this Upper Dharamkot property in 2025. It is set away from the busier lanes of the village, and recent guests single out the peace and quiet, the mountain views and the friendly manager.
Accommodation ranges from a female-only dormitory with its own balcony and ensuite bathroom to double rooms with balconies facing the mountains and a garden-view cottage, so it is more private-room friendly than many hostels. There is an on-site restaurant, a garden, a table tennis room, laundry service and luggage storage for anyone heading up to Triund overnight. It suits solo women, couples and travellers who want a social base without party energy. The meditation point and Dharamkot's yoga and art studios are within a few minutes' walk, and the Gallu Devi trailhead is a short uphill hike away.
